FUNDRAISER
Thank you for choosing to participate in our Hoops for Howls fundraiser! The funds raised by this fun interactive event will go towards the continued support of Mattersville’s primary causes: supporting our wolf/wolfdog rescues (currently over 120 wolf/wolfdog residents) and helping Veterans and others struggling with PTSD. This event will also help us to continue to raise awareness of and support for Veteran suicide prevention. [In the U.S., veteran suicides average 22 per day. That Is where our animal care team got its name – “Pack 22”!]
GOAL and SIGN-UP: The first step is to complete your AMBASSADOR REGISTRATION form (click below). By your participation, your goal will be to score 22 points in our Ambassador Challenge on Hoops for Howls Weekend (October 12 and 13, 2024). Most important, you need to find some pledges! [A pledge is someone who commits to donate a specific dollar amount for every point you score in our challenge, up to 22 points.] After you sign up, your goal is to collect as many pledges as possible leading up to the Hoops for Howls Weekend and your official hoops shootout. Have them provide their information and dollar commitment on the Pledge Form. You can print out the form from the link below – print as many copies as you need.) If someone pledges $2 per point and you score 10 points, that person would donate $20 to Mattersville. Feel free to share this webpage with them as well!
After you shoot, you will contact your Pledges and provide the information for where they can make their committed donation based on your score! (You might want to invite your Pledges to your shootout so they can come out and cheer you on!) Your Pledges can use PayPal, Venmo or CashApp, or call the number provided for secured credit card processing should they prefer to call in their donation (720.244.4424). Pledge payments are to be made electronically or by phone only. No cash should be collected on our behalf! Make sure your Pledges understand how it works so they are not committing to more than they can afford.
GAINING PLEDGES: Tell your friends, family, co-workers and others about Mattersville and invite them to make a donation commitment for this event. To make more people aware of your effort, we encourage you to get out to a nearby park and make a quick video of why you’re collecting pledges for Mattersville/Pack 22 and let people know that they can support you and get involved too. They might even want to join you on becoming a Hoops for Howls Ambassador!! Tag Mattersville on whichever platform you post your video, and we will be sure to share it as well! Your extended friends and family can then reach out to you to sign up as a Pledge! You are not limited on how many Pledges you can get. The more videos you share leading up to your selected day to shoot, the more pledges you’ll likely receive… and the more awareness you’ll create as an Ambassador!
HOW TO PLAY: This event will take place on October 12 and 13, 2024!*** Make sure you let your Pledges know which day you plan to shoot. The goal is to score 22 points in 10 shots to get the Top Score! Each Ambassador will take 8 shots from the free-throw line, and 2 shots from anywhere behind the 3-point line. No extra points for trick shots but we will love to see them! Each free-throw is worth 2 points, and each 3-point shot is worth 3 points. Simple! You should also record your series of shots back-to-back by video so you can share your effort on social media!
